Field Worker II – Agricultural Research (2 positions)

About the role

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture is looking for two motivated Field Worker II candidates to support laboratory, screen‑house and field trials at its headquarters in Ibadan. You will play a key part in maintaining the quality of planting material and assisting research teams in cultivar development.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and sort planting materials for laboratory, screen‑house and field trials.
• Assist with planned crosses and the development of new cultivars.
• Support field layout preparation, timely planting and harvesting of experimental material.
• Collect plant samples for laboratory analysis.
• Record and compile data from laboratory, screen‑house and field activities.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in glass‑house and screen‑house environments.
• Perform any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Minimum O’Level qualification.
• At least three (3) years of experience in a similar role within a well‑structured environment.
• Ability to work with little or no supervision.
• Strong data‑collection and sample‑sorting capabilities.
