Field Service Engineer – Solar Energy (Abia)

About the role

To support rapid expansion, we are seeking highly skilled Field Service Engineers who excel in powering and sustaining energy uptime. In this pivotal role you will manage technical operations and swiftly resolve regional issues.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure energy uptime and power availability at sites by monitoring systems and quickly diagnosing and solving technical issues.
• Support the setup of new hubs, ensure connectivity, and perform routine hub energy system maintenance, traveling to hubs or troubleshooting remotely.
• Oversee the installation and configuration of solar panels, electrical wiring, and associated equipment.
• Collaborate with Jaza Stars and the data team to diagnose and resolve technical challenges.
• Document field activities and maintain accurate hub equipment and component inventory records.
• Prepare regular reports on hub health and technical issues for the Regional Service Engineer.

Required profile

• Proven expertise in installing or ensuring uptime of energy systems, including diesel and solar.
• 2‑3 years of technical/engineering experience in telecommunications, energy, or related sectors.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to address complex technical challenges.
• Commitment to safety and compliance with HSE standards.
• Proficiency with data analysis tools and reporting software such as MS Office and Google products.
• Ability to work independently and effectively within a team.
• Passion for increasing energy access and openness to learning.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
