English Language Teacher

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic English Language Teacher to join our team in Port Harcourt. The successful candidate will plan, deliver and assess English lessons for secondary‑level students, fostering strong communication skills and academic growth.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging English lessons covering grammar, comprehension, vocabulary, essay writing, oral skills and literature.
• Prepare teaching materials, assignments, quizzes, tests and examinations aligned with the curriculum.
• Assess student work, provide constructive feedback and maintain accurate academic records.
• Identify individual learning needs and offer targeted support or interventions.
• Prepare students for internal and external examinations, including revision exercises and exam techniques.
• Maintain a disciplined, inclusive classroom environment and enforce school policies.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers, school management and parents on academic planning and extracurricular activities.

Required profile

• Entry‑level position with up to two years of teaching experience.
• Strong command of English language and ability to teach all core components.
• Commitment to student development and continuous improvement of teaching methods.
