About the role
The ECOWAS SME Competitiveness and Market Access Liaison Advisor will support the implementation of the Africa Trade Competitiveness and Market Access (ATCMA) programme in the ECOWAS sub‑regional component. Based in Abuja, the role coordinates activities, monitors progress and ensures alignment with regional policies.
Key responsibilities
- Support alignment of ATCMA ECOWAS outputs 1.1, 1.3 and 2.2 with regional policies and frameworks.
- Liaise with ECOWAS Member States, regional institutions, trade promotion organisations and private‑sector actors to promote inclusive market‑access initiatives.
- Coordinate with the ITC Programme Officer (Market Access) in Abuja and the ITC Programme Coordinator in Geneva.
- Collaborate closely with the ITC‑UNIDO Project Management Unit to ensure coherent programme implementation.
- Monitor and report on progress of market‑access barriers, quality compliance and SME capacity‑building activities.
Required profile
- Experience in coordinating international trade or development programmes.
- Familiarity with ECOWAS regional trade policies and frameworks.
- Proven ability to work with multiple stakeholders across government, private sector and development agencies.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
