Despatch Manager – Logistics B2B

About the role

The Despatch Manager will lead the B2B logistics team in Lagos, overseeing the end‑to‑end dispatch process to guarantee timely and accurate delivery of goods. The role involves coordinating with multiple internal functions, optimising routes, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards while driving cost‑effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily dispatch operations to ensure on‑time delivery.
• Monitor vehicle movements and optimise routing for efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, safety protocols and company policies.
• Manage dispatch personnel, providing training and performance evaluation.
• Collaborate with warehouse, logistics and supply‑chain teams to streamline dispatch activities.
• Analyse dispatch data and generate reports for performance improvement.
• Resolve delivery issues, delays and customer complaints promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of dispatch transactions, vehicle logs and fuel usage.
• Implement cost‑saving initiatives and ensure proper fleet maintenance to minimise downtime.

Required profile

• Strong leadership and team‑management abilities.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in logistics, dispatch or supply‑chain operations, preferably in FMCG, transport or manufacturing.
• B.Sc. in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field.
• Relevant certifications in Logistics, Transport Management or Supply Chain; fleet management certification is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with logistics and dispatch management software.
