Design Operations Lead

About the role

We are looking for a Design Operations Lead to manage a remote team of four designers and ensure every customer design becomes accurate, production‑ready packaging artwork quickly and without errors. This hands‑on leadership role blends process improvement, team coaching, and direct involvement in pre‑press and production tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Identify bottlenecks and build smarter workflows, systems, automations and AI‑supported processes to increase speed and scalability.
• Create structure, clarity and accountability across the remote design team through planning, feedback, performance follow‑up and individual development.
• Maintain a high quality bar by reviewing complex customer artwork and catching issues before they reach production.
• Represent Design across the company and improve collaboration with colleagues throughout the customer and production journey.
• Step into design production when needed, from correcting artwork in Illustrator to supporting the team during busy periods.

Required profile

• Operational leader who enjoys organizing teams, prioritising workloads and meeting deadlines in a fast‑moving environment.
• Detail‑oriented with a sharp eye for quality, able to catch mistakes before they reach customers or production.
• Continuous‑improvement mindset, eager to automate repetitive tasks and explore AI solutions.
• Passionate about developing people, providing clear feedback and raising team standards.
• Hands‑on leader comfortable switching between management, process work, artwork review and production.

Required skills

• Advanced Adobe Illustrator proficiency.
• Strong pre‑press knowledge and production‑ready artwork preparation.

What we offer

• Salary range $2,000 – $2,700 per month.
• 6 weeks paid time off per year, paid sick days and generous parental leave.
• Overtime is not expected; if required it is fully compensated.
