Deputy General Manager, Quality Assurance & Control

About the role

The Deputy General Manager, Quality Assurance & Control provides strategic leadership for the quality function across the entire production chain, from raw material extraction to final product delivery. Reporting to the Plant Director, the role ensures cement and related products consistently meet internal specifications, national regulations, and international certifications.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the QA/QC team and embed a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Develop, maintain and align the Quality Management System (QMS) with ISO 9001 standards.
• Design and execute an annual Quality Control Plan that meets production targets with minimal deviation.
• Oversee laboratory operations, ensuring accurate testing of raw materials, clinker, cement, oil, gas and water.
• Manage calibration schedules for laboratory and process control equipment.
• Monitor chemical parameters in collaboration with process control teams.
• Investigate and resolve product non‑conformances and deviations.
• Plan and conduct internal and external audits to retain ISO and industry certifications.
• Implement Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) systems and maintain comprehensive quality documentation.
• Drive Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to reduce scrap, rework and waste.

Required profile

• Executive‑level qualification with at least 15 years of experience in quality assurance within heavy‑industry or petrochemical environments.
• Proven track record of leading large QA/QC teams and managing complex quality systems.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to present performance data to senior management.
• Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
