Data Engineering Lead

About the role

Chowdeck is looking for a Data Engineering Lead to design, build and scale the data infrastructure that powers decision‑making across the company. You will own the end‑to‑end data pipelines, warehouse architecture and enable self‑service analytics for teams such as Operations, Finance, Product and Growth.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and workflows that support business‑critical operations.
• Own and evolve Chowdeck's data warehouse architecture and data models.
• Establish best practices for data engineering, data quality, observability, and governance.
• Build systems that enable self‑service reporting and analytics across teams.
• Develop monitoring and validation frameworks to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Growth teams to prioritize data requirements.
• Improve accessibility, discoverability and documentation of datasets across the organization.
• Optimize data infrastructure for scalability, performance and cost efficiency.
• Support forecasting, experimentation, machine learning and advanced analytics initiatives.
• Lead technical decisions relating to data infrastructure, tooling and architecture.
• Mentor and support other engineers working on data‑related projects.

Required profile

• Significant experience designing and maintaining modern data platforms and pipelines.
• Highly proficient in SQL and at least one programming language such as Python.
• Experience building and managing cloud‑based data infrastructure and data warehouses.
• Strong understanding of data governance, quality assurance and security principles.
• Ability to translate business problems into practical data solutions.
• Effective communication with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Proven track record leading projects and influencing technical decisions across teams.
• Analytical, detail‑oriented and comfortable working with ambiguity.
