Credit Risk and Verification Manager

About the role

The Credit Risk and Verification Manager will lead the verification unit, ensuring that all application data is accurately validated and that internal fraud is prevented. This role combines investigative work, process optimisation, and cross‑functional collaboration to maintain a strong system of internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a thorough technical understanding of operational systems, processes and policy requirements within the verification unit.
• Identify, recommend and oversee continuous efficiency improvements to policies and procedures.
• Lead verification actions on fraud claims and conduct internal and external verifications concerning allegations.
• Ensure accurate verification of application data and perform comprehensive audits to prevent internal fraud.
• Supervise field verification operations and conduct prospect and guarantor due‑diligence checks.
• Perform skip‑tracing, character checks and address tracing as required.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience, with at least 4 years leading objective investigations.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; MBA or relevant certifications are a plus.
• Experience in internal investigations or verification within an international development organisation is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder‑management abilities.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets.
• Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools.
