Credit Recovery Officer

About the role

The Credit Recovery Officer will manage overdue loan accounts for Generation Capital Limited, ensuring timely repayment and minimizing losses. You will work closely with customers, internal teams and legal partners to recover delinquent balances while maintaining compliance and professional standards.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and manage overdue and delinquent loan accounts across assigned portfolios.
• Contact customers via phone, email and field visits to follow up on outstanding repayments.
• Negotiate repayment plans, settlements and restructuring arrangements.
• Conduct field collections and other recovery activities as required.
• Track customer commitments and ensure adherence to agreed repayment schedules.
• Identify high‑risk accounts and escalate them to senior management or legal teams.
• Maintain accurate records of recovery activities, commitments and payments.
• Prepare regular recovery reports and update portfolio performance metrics.
• Collaborate with Credit, Sales, Finance and Legal teams to resolve delinquent accounts.
• Recommend effective recovery strategies and identify trends in loan defaults.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or related field.
• Completed NYSC.
• 2–5 years of experience in credit recovery, debt collection or loan recovery within financial services.
• Proven ability to manage delinquent loan accounts and develop repayment plans.
• Strong analytical, negotiation and communication skills.
• High level of integrity, professionalism and attention to detail.
