Credit Officer

About the role

Generation Capital Limited is seeking a proactive Credit Officer to drive loan sales, assess creditworthiness, and maintain strong client relationships in Port Harcourt and the surrounding Rivers State region.

Key responsibilities

• Generate quality leads, follow up with prospects and convert them into active clients.
• Conduct field visits, business assessments and customer verification to evaluate credit risk.
• Prepare and present credit recommendations to the credit committee for approval.
• Maintain ongoing customer relationships and provide post‑disbursement support.
• Produce periodic activity reports and analyse market trends to inform product improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Marketing or a related discipline.
• 2–3 years of experience in credit sales, micro‑lending or financial services.
• Strong sales and marketing abilities with a proven record of meeting targets.
• Good understanding of credit risk assessment, loan documentation and NYSC completion.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a performance‑driven environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
