Credit Officer

About the role

The Credit Officer will drive loan generation, manage client relationships and ensure high‑quality credit disbursements for our Port Harcourt market. You will work closely with prospects, assess credit applications and support post‑disbursement activities.

Key responsibilities

• Generate quality leads, follow up with prospects and convert them into active clients.
• Conduct field visits, business assessments and customer verification.
• Assess credit applications and present recommendations to the credit committee.
• Ensure prompt disbursement while maintaining portfolio quality.
• Maintain strong customer relationships and provide post‑disbursement support.
• Analyze market trends and advise on product improvement.
• Render periodic activity reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Marketing or a related field.
• 2‑3 years of experience in credit sales, micro‑lending or financial services.
• Completed NYSC.
• Strong sales, negotiation and interpersonal abilities.
• Good understanding of credit risk assessment and loan documentation.
• Excellent communication, time‑management and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a performance‑driven environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

What we offer

• Transport and airtime allowance.
• Commission on loan value (20%).
• Base salary ranging from NGN 150,000 to NGN 250,000 per month.
• Salary increase after two consecutive months of target achievement.
