Country Director – Nigeria

About the role

Viamo is looking for an entrepreneurial, hands‑on leader to grow its most important market – Nigeria. You will create partnership opportunities, co‑design solutions for UN agencies, NGOs, donors and private‑sector firms, and turn them into financially sustainable contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the Nigeria growth strategy, prioritising accounts and funding opportunities, leading outreach, discovery and proposal development to secure high‑value contracts.
• Lead the Nigeria Country Crew, aligning program, product and technology leads, managing hand‑over to delivery teams and representing Viamo with government, development partners and mobile operators.

Required profile

• Proven record of originating and closing significant business, with clear evidence of personal contribution.
• Extensive experience living and working in Nigeria, with a trusted professional network in the development ecosystem.
• Deep understanding of UN, NGO and donor funding processes, including grant, sub‑award and procurement routes.
• Strong proposal writing, budgeting and scope‑of‑work development skills.
• Excellent English communication, persuasive influence and senior‑level stakeholder engagement.
• Entrepreneurial drive, self‑management, learning agility and collaborative leadership.
• Daily professional use of AI tools with demonstrated responsible application.
