Corporate & Public Affairs Manager

About the role

FrieslandCampina WAMCO is seeking a Corporate & Public Affairs Manager to lead its government relations, regulatory and public affairs activities in Nigeria. The role will protect the company from regulatory shocks, shape policy, and promote a strong corporate image.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement an annual public affairs and communication plan aligned with regional and global objectives.
• Maintain effective relationships with government ministries, agencies, NGOs, and industry bodies.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments, analyse impact and formulate company positions.
• Lead lobbying efforts and build a network of business partners, academics and key opinion leaders.
• Oversee crisis and issues management in coordination with regional/global public affairs teams.
• Manage corporate partnerships, protocol and liaison functions, and support business travel cost‑saving initiatives.
• Provide strategic information and campaigns to promote key business initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven leadership and coaching experience, with responsibility for managing direct reports.
• Extensive experience in government relations, regulatory affairs or public affairs within the food, health or agriculture sector.
• Strong analytical skills to assess legislative proposals and their business impact.
• Excellent networking and stakeholder‑engagement abilities with government, NGOs and industry groups.
