Consultant Urologist – Senior Consultant, Lagos

About the role

The leading healthcare institution in Lagos seeks an experienced Consultant Urologist to join its specialist team. You will deliver comprehensive urological care, perform advanced surgical procedures, and manage emergency cases. The role combines clinical excellence with leadership of junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist consultations, diagnosis and management of urinary and reproductive system conditions.
• Perform and oversee advanced urological surgeries, including laparoscopic, endoscopic, prostatectomy, nephrectomy, TURP and stone removal.
• Manage emergency urological cases such as acute urinary retention, renal colic and trauma.
• Conduct outpatient clinics, inpatient reviews, ward rounds and post‑operative follow‑up.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams, supervise junior doctors and trainees, and participate in on‑call services.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and drive quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent medical qualification and full registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.
• FWACS in Urology (or equivalent) with at least 5 years post‑fellowship experience.
• Proven expertise in advanced laparoscopic, endoscopic and minimally invasive urological procedures.
• Experience in a tertiary or specialist hospital and demonstrated clinical leadership.
