Consultant Migration Health Nurse (G5)

About the role

The Migration Health Assessment Clinic (MHAC) in Lagos seeks a qualified Consultant Migration Health Nurse (G5) to deliver comprehensive medical examinations, vaccinations, laboratory testing and TB management for migrants and refugees preparing for resettlement.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily nursing activities including vital signs, anthropometry, visual acuity, phlebotomy, urine/sputum collection and imaging.
• Perform laboratory testing, administer vaccinations, manage TB screening and coordinate treatment referrals.
• Guide migrants through pre‑departure procedures, documentation, and health information transmission.
• Maintain accurate biodata, ID verification, and registers of all health investigations.
• Follow SOPs, enforce universal precautions, and ensure proper sample transport to laboratories.
• Manage MHAC pharmacy stock, medical and emergency kits, and support medical escorts.
• Provide TB/HIV counseling, prepare administrative reports, and assist with mobile mission planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Nursing from an accredited institution and a valid nursing license for the duty station.
• Minimum 3 years (Bachelor) or 5 years (Diploma) of relevant clinical experience.
• Experience in phlebotomy and exposure to TB management, mass immunizations, communicable‑disease control or public‑health programs is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of preventive care, patient safety, infection prevention and control, and clinical nursing practice.
• Computer literacy with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access).
