Compliance Officer

About the role

GlobalPay Limited is seeking a diligent Compliance Officer to strengthen its regulatory and risk compliance function. Based in Lagos, Nigeria, the role ensures alignment with Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) regulations and global AML/CFT standards. The officer will work closely with legal, risk and operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure compliance with CBN guidelines, AML/CFT/CPF regulations and other applicable laws.
• Conduct periodic risk assessments and compliance audits across business units.
• Review and update KYC/KYB, AML and sanctions screening policies and procedures.
• Investigate suspicious transactions and file Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) with the NFIU.
• Liaise with regulators (CBN, NFIU, EFCC) during examinations, audits and reporting cycles.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Accounting or related field.
• 4‑7 years of compliance experience within a bank, PSP, switching company or fintech.
• Professional certification such as ACAMS or CIFC is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of Nigeria's payment and financial services regulatory landscape.

Required skills

• Regulatory knowledge of CBN guidelines, AML/CFT/CPF Act, NDPR/NDPA.
• Experience with transaction monitoring and sanctions screening systems.
• Analytical skills for risk assessment and investigative analysis.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and compliance case management tools.
