Compliance Officer

About the role

The Compliance Officer will develop, implement and maintain compliance frameworks that align with regulations and Platnova’s internal policies. This full‑time, on‑site position is based in Lagos and works closely with product, operations and finance teams.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on business operations.
• Advise internal teams on necessary process updates to meet compliance requirements.
• Conduct compliance risk assessments and perform periodic audits and reviews.
• Prepare detailed compliance reports for senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with product, operations and finance teams to ensure new and existing services meet regulatory standards.
• Provide training and guidance to colleagues on compliance best practices.

Required profile

• Strong background in compliance management and regulatory compliance, preferably within financial services or fintech.
• Robust analytical skills to interpret regulations, assess risks and translate requirements into practical processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities for reporting and stakeholder engagement.
• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration or related field; relevant certifications are a plus.
• Proven experience in a compliance, risk or regulatory role, with high ethical standards and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams.
