Commercial Transactional Lawyer

About the role

This remote position is for a Commercial Transactional Lawyer based in Nigeria, supporting an international organisation. You will provide strategic legal advice for complex commercial operations, ensuring contracts and transactions align with business goals.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including supplier, service, licensing, distribution, partnership, NDA and joint‑venture contracts.
• Offer legal guidance on commercial risks, contractual obligations and compliance with applicable Australian laws.
• Support corporate transactions such as mergers, acquisitions and reorganisations through due diligence and documentation.
• Analyse business strategies from a legal perspective and deliver practical recommendations.
• Stay current on changes in commercial legislation, regulations and contract law.
• Communicate complex legal concepts in clear, actionable terms for non‑legal stakeholders.

Required profile

• LLB or equivalent law degree.
• Minimum five years of experience in commercial transactions, corporate law or a related legal field.
• Strong knowledge of Australian contract law and commercial regulations.
• Proven ability to draft, negotiate and advise on diverse commercial agreements.
• Excellent analytical skills and independent decision‑making.
