Chief of Staff – Nigeria Program

About the role

The Chief of Staff will lead the execution of the Country Director’s strategic agenda and drive organizational effectiveness across One Acre Fund’s Nigeria program. Acting as the primary strategic architect and operational lead, this role ensures key priorities are implemented at scale through advanced cross‑functional influence and ownership of high‑risk initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the Country Director’s principal strategic advisor, providing incisive analysis and data‑driven recommendations on mission‑critical issues.
• Translate organizational strategy into prioritized, actionable execution plans and maintain rigorous accountability for the Country Director’s agenda.
• Lead and coordinate high‑stakes, cross‑functional initiatives across all departments, ensuring alignment, resource allocation and timely delivery.
• Conduct research and market/industry analysis to inform and accelerate executive decision‑making.
• Facilitate strategic communication and decision‑making between the Country Director and senior leadership, ensuring clarity and full follow‑through.
• Manage relationships with high‑level external stakeholders, including major donors, government partners and strategic allies.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery of special, cross‑functional projects, driving them from conception through successful integration.

Required profile

• Proven experience advising senior leadership on strategic and operational matters.
• Strong ability to influence across functions and manage high‑risk initiatives.
• Excellent research, analytical and market‑analysis capabilities.
• Demonstrated skill in stakeholder management with donors, government entities and strategic partners.
• Track record of leading multi‑team, complex projects to successful completion.
