Chief Compliance Officer

About the role

Monas Consulting is seeking a Chief Compliance Officer to lead its compliance and risk management function across its real‑estate operations in Nigeria. The role will shape strategy, ensure adherence to regulatory frameworks and embed a culture of integrity throughout the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute enterprise‑wide compliance and risk management strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Lead risk assessments, mitigation initiatives and internal audit programmes across all subsidiaries.
• Oversee regulatory compliance with Nigerian real‑estate laws, the Land Use Act, urban planning statutes and sector‑specific regulations.
• Manage relationships with SEC Nigeria, CBN, Corporate Affairs Commission and other regulatory bodies.
• Ensure compliance with tax obligations, AML protocols, CAMA requirements and financial reporting standards.
• Mentor and develop compliance and audit teams, providing training and fostering continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B) with BL qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in real‑estate, construction, investment, corporate law or other regulated sectors.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian real‑estate regulations, tax law and anti‑money‑laundering requirements.
