Cards Operations Manager

About the role

The Cards Operations Manager leads the day‑to‑day management of Renmoney’s debit and credit card portfolio, ensuring operational stability, regulatory compliance and a positive cardholder experience. This senior role coordinates internal teams, card schemes, processors and service providers to deliver reliable and secure card products.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end card operations including issuance, personalisation, activation, transaction processing, reconciliation, settlement and dispute handling.
• Ensure compliance with CBN, NIBSS and card‑scheme (Mastercard, Verve, Visa, AfriGO) requirements and submit accurate regulatory reports on time.
• Oversee card inventory, ordering, stock levels and delivery to prevent stock‑outs and meet turnaround targets.
• Monitor fraud alerts, coordinate investigations with Risk and Security teams, and implement controls to reduce fraud losses.
• Maintain vendor relationships, track service‑level performance and drive resolution of high‑impact incidents.
• Produce operational dashboards and reports for senior management, highlighting performance, risks and improvement opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, IT or related field.
• 5‑7 years of experience in banking, fintech or payments, with at least 2‑3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
• Proven knowledge of debit and credit card operations and experience working with card schemes such as Mastercard, Verve and AfriGO.
• Strong understanding of transaction processing, reconciliation, settlement, disputes, chargebacks and fraud management.
• Familiarity with CBN and NIBSS regulatory frameworks.
