Business Development & Marketing Officer

About the role

The Business Development & Marketing Officer will drive growth for WCM Capital’s asset and portfolio management business. You will build strategic relationships with high‑net‑worth individuals, corporate and institutional investors, and promote a range of investment products.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the firm’s asset management and portfolio management activities.
• Develop and maintain relationships with HNIs, corporate clients, institutional investors and financial partners.
• Manage the full marketing lifecycle – from campaign planning and content creation to execution and performance reporting.
• Promote investment products such as Money Market Funds, Fixed Income Funds, Equity Funds, Balanced Funds, Mutual Funds and Discretionary Portfolio Management services.
• Prepare marketing collateral including brochures, pitch decks, fact sheets, client presentations, newsletters and social media content.
• Coordinate investor outreach via WhatsApp, SMS, phone calls, webinars, seminars and email campaigns to acquire and retain clients.
• Provide existing clients with regular portfolio updates, investment information and high‑quality customer service.
• Analyse market trends, economic developments and investor behaviour to refine strategies and uncover growth opportunities.
• Collaborate with Investment, Compliance and Operations teams to ensure all communications meet regulatory standards.
• Support the launch and promotion of new investment products and collective investment schemes.
• Monitor marketing performance metrics, prepare reports and recommend improvements.
• Represent the firm at seminars, conferences, networking events and client meetings to enhance brand visibility.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• Proven experience in business development, marketing, relationship management or sales within the financial services industry.
• Strong understanding of the Nigerian capital market and financial instruments such as Treasury Bills, FGN Bonds, Commercial Papers, Equities, Mutual Funds and Fixed Income products.
• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and interpersonal abilities.
