Business Development Manager

About the role

We are looking for a Business Development Manager to drive the acquisition and growth of import/export clients in Nigeria who require cross‑border payment solutions. The role focuses on high‑value B2B relationships, not retail or door‑to‑door sales.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop Nigerian importers with annual transaction volumes of at least RMB 5 million, targeting markets such as China, India, Turkey, and Europe.
• Introduce XTransfer’s local payment and currency‑exchange services (Naira → USD & Naira → RMB) and assist clients in opening and using XTransfer accounts.
• Conduct regular market, client, and association visits; build partnerships with customs agents, freight forwarders, logistics firms and industry bodies.
• Maintain long‑term relationships, continuously follow up on client needs and report market insights to the Country Manager.

Required profile

• OND/HND/Bachelor’s degree or higher with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Proven track record in business‑to‑business sales, preferably in banking or cross‑border payment services.
• Confident, ambitious, goal‑oriented and able to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Own transportation is a plus.

Required skills

• Strong business negotiation and customer service abilities.
• Knowledge of import/export processes and cross‑border payment mechanisms.
