Business Development Associate – Weather & Air Quality Solutions

About the role

The Business Development Associate will help shape how brands look, feel and communicate while expanding Miri Air’s weather and air‑quality monitoring solutions across Africa. You will identify new opportunities, build a qualified sales pipeline and forge strategic partnerships with government agencies, manufacturers, carbon project developers and infrastructure operators.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities across public and private sectors.
• Build and manage a qualified sales pipeline from prospecting to deal closure.
• Lead outbound outreach (email, calls, LinkedIn) and coordinate inbound lead follow‑ups.
• Prepare proposals, pricing models and commercial offers tailored to client needs.
• Support negotiations and contract execution with public and private sector clients.
• Develop strategic partnerships with ecosystem players such as climate fintechs, sustainability platforms and research institutions.
• Conduct market research to identify new sectors and geographic expansion opportunities.
• Represent Miri Africa at industry events, conferences and stakeholder meetings.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of experience in business development, sales, partnerships or enterprise account management.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
• Experience selling B2B SaaS, climate‑tech, IoT or data‑driven solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, comfortable engaging senior stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset with ability to understand technical products and translate them into commercial value.
