Branch Compliance Officer

About the role

The Branch Compliance Officer supports and monitors compliance activities across assigned branches, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies and procedures. The role identifies and escalates compliance risks and exceptions for timely resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor assigned branches for compliance with regulatory requirements, policies, procedures and internal control standards.
• Conduct periodic compliance reviews and follow up on identified exceptions until closure.
• Ensure compliance with KYC, Customer Due Diligence, AML/CFT and sanctions requirements.
• Review account‑opening and customer documentation for regulatory and internal compliance.
• Identify, document and escalate compliance breaches, exceptions and emerging risks.
• Provide guidance and support to branch staff on policies and regulatory requirements.
• Track remediation of findings from reviews, audits and examinations.
• Support implementation of new regulatory requirements and conduct awareness sessions.
• Maintain accurate records of reviews, exceptions and remediation status.
• Escalate suspicious activities in line with bank procedures and liaise with stakeholders for resolution.

Required profile

• Good knowledge of banking operations and regulatory requirements, including AML/CFT, KYC, CDD and sanctions.
• Strong understanding of compliance risk, internal control principles and branch processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify exceptions.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple locations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and strong report‑writing skills.
• Effective stakeholder management, communication and high level of integrity.
• Analytical, problem‑solving and proactive, results‑oriented mindset.
