Biomonitoring Coordinator

About the role

The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) is looking for a Biomonitoring Coordinator to support its conservation programmes across Nigeria. The role combines data management, field monitoring and cross‑team collaboration to ensure high‑quality biodiversity information for decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and maintain biomonitoring databases and field data collection systems.
• Coordinate field monitoring activities in protected areas such as Cross River National Park and Yankari Game Reserve.
• Compile, analyse and report monitoring results to project teams and partners.
• Provide technical support and training to field staff and community partners.
• Ensure data quality, compliance with WCS standards and timely submission of reports.

Required profile

• Strong analytical, organisational and communication abilities.
• Experience working in wildlife or environmental monitoring projects.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse teams, including local communities and government agencies.
• Commitment to conservation goals and the mission of WCS.

Required skills

• Data management and database maintenance.
