Associate Professor of Law

About the role

The Associate Professor of Law will join the School of Law at American University of Nigeria, contributing to teaching, research, and community service. The role supports the Dean in shaping curricula that foster practical, critical thinking and effective communication among students.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality teaching and support student learning inside and outside the classroom.
• Engage in research activities, develop proposals, and publish in reputable journals.
• Participate in community service and development initiatives of the university.
• Ensure class attendance, assignment completion, and academic advising throughout the semester.
• Attend departmental and school meetings to facilitate communication and operations.
• Participate in faculty and all‑college meetings called by university administration.

Required profile

• PhD in Law from a reputable university.
• Minimum nine (9) years of teaching and research experience at a reputable university.
• Demonstrated leadership in academic, research, or administrative activities.
• Verified academic publications in reputable local and international journals.
• Membership of the Nigerian Bar Association.
• Commitment to academic integrity, diversity, and equal opportunity.

Required skills

• Proficiency in using ICT tools and e‑resources for teaching and research.
