Associate Director, Right-Fit Evidence Unit

About the role

The Associate Director leads a portfolio of evidence and learning advisory engagements for funders, implementers, and governments, helping turn data into decisions. The role also contributes to the global leadership team’s strategy and public presence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead delivery of multiple advisory engagements (65–75% of time), managing 3–5 projects simultaneously across sectors such as education, health, agriculture and finance.
• Design and facilitate evidence‑, learning‑ and M&E‑related workshops, provide technical assistance for learning plans, cost‑effectiveness analyses and A/B testing.
• Support funders ranging from individuals to global foundations on learning systems, grantmaking, and portfolio‑level learning.
• Contribute to business development, public outreach and thought leadership (15–20% of time).
• Guide internal teams, mentor staff, and lead strategic initiatives for the unit (10–15% of time).

Required profile

• Master’s degree in public policy, development economics or related field; PhD or MBA welcomed.
• Minimum 7 years of experience managing complex advisory engagements, business development and shaping organizational strategy.
• Strong analytical, quantitative and problem‑solving skills with experience translating business questions into analytical frameworks.
• Extensive experience designing and managing evidence, learning, monitoring and evaluation systems in low‑ and middle‑income countries.
• Excellent stakeholder management and client‑facing communication abilities.
