Associate, Audit & Risk

About the role

We are looking for an Associate, Audit & Risk to help build a scalable internal‑controls framework across our farm clusters and deliver trusted compliance reporting for donors and impact investors. You will work closely with operations leadership to ensure controls are embedded at the field level and that audit cycles run smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a monitoring cadence for controls at the farm‑cluster level that operates without central oversight.
• Create a compliance calendar and evidence‑management system resilient to key‑person dependency.
• Conduct fraud‑risk assessments of field operations, identify top exposure areas and propose mitigating controls.
• Lead end‑to‑end donor audit cycles aiming for zero material findings linked to internal processes.
• Reduce repeat audit findings by 40 % within 18 months through root‑cause resolution.

Required profile

• Strong grounding in internal audit methodology, risk frameworks (COSO, IPPF or equivalent) and internal‑controls design.
• Excellent analytical ability to interpret reconciliations, variances and process breakdowns.
• Experience with financial controls and compliance reporting in organisations funded by donors or development finance institutions.
• Ability to translate risk concepts into clear business language.
• Proactive mindset focused on designing systems that prevent problems rather than merely reporting them.
