Architectural Engineer – Design Vetting Office (Abuja)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and talented Architect to join our Design Vetting Office (DVO) in Life Camp, Abuja. The role focuses on reviewing architectural, structural and MEP designs for railway stations and related buildings, ensuring compliance with international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Review contractor designs to verify architectural, structural and MEP compliance of railway stations and other railway buildings.
• Ensure integration between architectural, MEP, structural and urban aspects of the designs.
• Draft technical comments and documentation to support design analysis within established timelines.
• Coordinate and control technical comments from Architecture, Structural and MEP disciplines.
• Prepare meeting minutes, technical reports and other communication documents for contractors, clients and stakeholders.
• Analyse technical specifications, laboratory test reports and calculation reports on structural and finishing materials.
• Apply European and British standards related to accessibility, evacuation, public‑space protection and material quality.
• Participate in technical meetings with contractors and clients and conduct periodic site visits.

Required profile

• Proven experience reviewing architectural, structural and MEP designs for transport infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of European and British standards for accessibility, evacuation and public‑space protection.
• Ability to interact effectively with contractors, clients and multidisciplinary teams during technical meetings.
