Agronomist

About the role

The Agronomist will plan and supervise all aspects of crop production, ensuring optimal growth and yield across our farms in Ibadan and Oyo State.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and supervise planting, cultivation, fertilization, irrigation, and harvesting activities.
• Monitor crop growth and overall field performance.
• Develop fertilizer and soil‑management programs.
• Identify and manage pests, weeds, and crop diseases.
• Maintain accurate records of farm inputs, crop performance, and production activities.
• Recommend improved farming techniques to increase productivity and reduce costs.
• Supervise and train farm workers on proper crop‑management practices.
• Ensure good agricultural practices and farm safety standards are followed.

Required profile

• Minimum of 1 year practical experience in agronomy, crop production, or farm management.
• Degree, HND, or relevant qualification in Agronomy, Crop Science, Agriculture, Soil Science, or related field.
• Good knowledge of crop cultivation, soil preparation, fertilizer application, irrigation, pest and disease management.
• Ability to identify crop diseases, nutrient deficiencies, and pest problems and recommend solutions.
• Experience with farm record‑keeping and production planning.
• Ability to supervise farm workers and ensure proper implementation of activities.
• Hardworking, responsible, observant, and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
