Accounting Officer – PRiFN Project

About the role

TechnoServe Nigeria is seeking a junior‑level Accounting Officer to support the finance department and the PRiFN project. Reporting to the Finance Controller, the incumbent will ensure accurate accounting, compliance with donor and statutory requirements, and timely financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Review procurement requests for compliance, raise payment vouchers, and facilitate wire transfers.
• Enter transaction data into TechnoServe’s accounting system and maintain both physical and electronic filing systems.
• Assist the Senior Finance Specialist in implementing a grant tracking system and monitoring grant expenditures.
• File tax deductions, support tax clearance, and stay updated on regulatory changes.
• Prepare schedules for monthly financial close and produce donor reports for the PRiFN project.
• Support GL reconciliation, internal and external audits, and provide required documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of finance experience (or 4 years without a degree).
• Experience with donor financial reporting, preferably UN‑funded projects.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines.

Required skills

• Advanced‑level knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Basic functional knowledge of field accounting software packages.
