Accountant – Payroll & VAT Specialist

About the role

Mapemond Limited is seeking a detail‑oriented Accountant to join its finance team in Port Harcourt. The position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate payroll processing, invoice management, and tax compliance within a dynamic hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and manage the monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
• Raise, track, and reconcile invoices, maintaining clear records for both suppliers and clients.
• Perform regular account reconciliations to verify the integrity of financial data.
• Handle VAT filing, monitor compliance, and respond to any tax authority inquiries.
• Stay updated on current tax laws and regulations, applying changes to internal processes as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum of a B.Sc. in Accounting.
• At least 2 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a hospitality or service‑oriented setting.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all financial tasks.

Required skills

• Good computer knowledge.
