Accountant II – Treasury & Accounts Payable

About the role

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture is looking for a qualified Accountant II to join its headquarters in Ibadan. The role focuses on managing foreign fund transfers, supporting treasury operations, and ensuring accurate accounts payable processing.

Key responsibilities

• Process payments to foreign banks using Oracle Accounts Payable (AP) modules.
• Initiate and monitor fund transfers through various international banking platforms.
• Respond to enquiries related to foreign fund transfers and payment transactions.
• Provide backup for the Assistant Treasury Manager and Cashier when absent.
• Reconcile overseas creditors/suppliers AP balances and maintain pre‑payment schedules.
• Prepare imprest reimbursements for IITA stations and reconcile clearing accounts, ensuring correct bank charge recognition.

Required profile

• BSc/HND in Finance and Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum three (3) years of experience in a similar role within a structured environment.
• ACA or ACCA qualification is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, high accuracy, and ability to work under pressure.

Required skills

• Practical experience with Oracle EBS, specifically the Accounts Payable module.
• Proficiency in using international banking platforms.
• Strong command of the Microsoft Office Suite.
