Accountant – Hotel Financial Operations

About the role

The hotel is seeking a diligent Accountant to manage its financial operations, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll and reporting. This junior‑level position will support strategic decision‑making through accurate financial analysis and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries and payroll processing.
• Prepare and analyse financial statements, budgets, variance reports and monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Oversee daily cash flow, ensuring sufficient funds for operational needs.
• Coordinate and review all financial transactions for compliance with internal policies and accounting standards.
• Perform regular reconciliations of bank, vendor and other financial accounts.
• Prepare and file tax returns, compute PAYE and VAT, and ensure tax compliance.
• Monitor hotel expenses, implement cost‑saving measures and support department budgeting.
• Assist in financial forecasting, inventory ledger maintenance and ERP data entry.
• Participate in internal and external audits and maintain internal controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 1 year of accounting experience, preferably in hospitality.
• Knowledge of business tax planning, NRS and RIRS tax filing.
• Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills.
• Membership of a recognised accounting professional body is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using an ERP system for financial data management.
