Accountant – Full-time Finance Role

About the role

The company seeks a diligent Accountant to manage its financial records, prepare reports, and support budgeting and tax activities. This full-time position is based in Lagos and reports to the finance manager.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate books of accounts, prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, prepare invoices, payment schedules, receipts and supporting documentation.
• Perform bank, supplier, customer and general ledger reconciliations and monitor cash flow, income and expenditure.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, variance analysis and monitor actual expenditure against approved budgets.
• Assist with payroll‑related accounting activities and support tax computations, filings and statutory obligations.
• Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, financial institutions and regulatory bodies, and maintain proper audit documentation.
• Strengthen internal financial controls, investigate discrepancies and ensure compliance with accounting policies.

Required profile

• B.Sc. or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline.
• 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and Nigerian tax and statutory requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting software such as Sage, QuickBooks, Odoo or SAP.
