Accountant – Finance Team

About the role

We are seeking a diligent Accountant to join our finance team at D’xplorer Cakes and Catering Services Ltd in Lagos. The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, supporting reporting and compliance, and ensuring smooth day‑to‑day accounting operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers.
• Post daily transactions into accounting software.
• Reconcile bank statements and petty cash accounts.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Support tax return preparation, statutory filings, and compliance documentation.
• Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
• Monitor expenses and prepare expense reports.
• Handle payroll processing and staff reimbursements.
• Liaise with external auditors when required.
• Provide administrative support to the Finance Manager and senior Accountant.

Required profile

• Minimum HND/B.Sc. in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in an accounting or finance role.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem‑solving abilities.
• High attention to detail, integrity, and confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and time‑management capabilities.
• Proximity to Ojodu Berger is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel.
• Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Tally.
