Account Officer

About the role

The Account Officer will manage the full cycle of invoicing, receivables, cash handling and bank reconciliations for corporate and private clients. You will ensure accurate financial records, timely payments, and compliance with statutory obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, verify and issue invoices to clients and monitor accounts receivable.
• Follow up overdue accounts, recover debts and resolve billing disputes.
• Record daily cash and bank transactions and perform regular bank reconciliations.
• Process supplier reimbursements, petty cash, VAT, PAYE, annual returns and pension contributions.
• Prepare aged receivables reports, cash‑flow statements and other periodic financial reports.
• Liaise with clients, banks, suppliers and internal departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities and maintain proper filing of accounting documents.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as an Account Officer or in a similar role.
• Strong analytical, communication and organisational abilities.
• Detail‑oriented, trustworthy team player able to meet deadlines.
• ICAN certification is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software/packages.
• Advanced MS Excel skills.

• Competitive remuneration of NGN 200,000 – 250,000 per month.
