Abattoir Supervisor – Livestock Processing

About the role

Sunny Acres Farm is seeking a motivated, hands‑on Abattoir Supervisor to lead daily livestock processing operations in Abuja. This full‑time, on‑site position ensures safety, efficiency, and product quality while supporting the farm’s crop and livestock business.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise abattoir staff and coordinate daily slaughter and processing schedules.
• Monitor compliance with food safety, hygiene, animal welfare, and regulatory standards.
• Inspect equipment and facilities, oversee cleaning, maintenance, and SOP adherence.
• Maintain accurate production records, manage inventory of supplies, and report performance metrics.
• Train team members, promote a safe work environment, and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of abattoir operations, slaughter processes, carcass handling, and meat quality standards.
• Experience with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation practices, preferably HACCP.
• Proven people‑management skills, including shift supervision and coaching.
• Ability to enforce animal welfare standards and regulatory compliance.
• Physical ability to work in abattoir conditions for extended periods.
