Water Resources Engineer

About the role

The Water Resources Engineer will work under the Senior Utilities Manager to provide field technical support and supervision for Alaro City’s water treatment plant, trunk water line, tank farm, and distribution network. The role ensures continuous potable water supply for city operations and supports customers throughout construction and ongoing use.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise water treatment plant(s) and distribution network to guarantee round‑the‑clock potable water availability.
• Facilitate water supply and sales to construction and operational customers.
• Perform billing and monitoring to track water usage and maintain acceptable loss standards.
• Monitor daily water demand versus plant production capacity and recommend expansion works.
• Conduct mechanical assembly, plumbing, and connection/disconnection tasks using power and manual tools.
• Provide technical support for water infrastructure development and expansion.
• Undertake minor break fixes and reconnections on site.
• Document and follow up on client service requests within agreed turnaround times.
• Supervise the water team and coordinate routine water engineering activities.
• Inspect water progress work and complete final installations checkout.

Required profile

• Ability to deliver field technical support and supervise water operations.
• Experience supervising water treatment plants and distribution networks.
• Strong problem‑solving skills for billing, monitoring, and demand analysis.
• Capability to manage client service requests and ensure timely resolution.
• Leadership skills to oversee a technical water team.
