Technical Assistant to the Founding Partner

About the role

WEAV Capital is an early‑stage venture capital fund focused on female‑led innovation across Africa. The Technical Assistant to the Founding Partner will work directly with the Founding Partner, gaining hands‑on exposure to investment operations, impact measurement, and strategic communications. This high‑visibility position is designed as a launchpad for a future Chief of Staff role.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Founding Partner in managing day‑to‑day fund operations, tracking strategic priorities, and preparing for key meetings.
• Maintain pipeline management systems, log inbound deal flow, conduct background research on founders and sectors, and help draft investment memoranda.
• Assist in developing and tracking WEAV’s impact framework, measuring outcomes for female founders and their communities.
• Prepare impact reports and investor updates that communicate the fund’s theory of change and portfolio results.
• Lead preparation for Board, LP, and Advisory Council meetings, including agenda setting, material compilation, and follow‑up.
• Represent the Founding Partner in selected meetings, building relationships on behalf of WEAV.
• Identify and implement operational improvements across fund workflows and tools.
• Manage the Founding Partner’s calendar, travel arrangements, and correspondence.

Required profile

• Mid‑level professional with at least three years of relevant experience.
• Strong judgment, initiative, and the ability to operate with increasing independence.
• Passion for impact‑focused venture capital and gender‑lens investing in African markets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail‑oriented with a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
