Tax Manager

About the role

The Tax Manager will lead the development and implementation of tax strategies to ensure Dangote Cement Plc complies with all relevant tax legislation while optimizing its tax position.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file federal and state tax returns accurately and on time.
• Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimise the organisation's tax position.
• Identify tax issues, devise solutions and manage tax audits, investigations and assessments.
• Review tax computations, returns and payments to ensure timely filing and compliance.
• Oversee tax accounting and reporting in line with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct periodic tax health checks and maintain controls to mitigate tax risks.
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and advise management on business impact.
• Review contracts and transactions for tax implications and recommend tax‑efficient structures.
• Assess related‑party transactions for transfer‑pricing compliance.
• Provide advisory, training and guidance to internal stakeholders on tax compliance.
• Supervise the tax team to ensure accurate and timely tax return preparation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA).
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, preferably with Big 4 exposure.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SAP.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Competence with Microsoft Word.
• Competence with Microsoft PowerPoint.
