Supply & Logistics Officer (Temporary) – Abuja

About the role

UNICEF is seeking a Supply & Logistics Officer on a temporary appointment to support its programmes in Abuja, Nigeria. The role involves strategic planning, management and oversight of supply chain operations to ensure timely and cost‑effective delivery of goods and services for children‑focused initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support the Supply Team in planning, performance management, capacity building and operational readiness.
• Advise, plan and oversee all UNICEF logistics operations, monitoring performance to ensure efficiency and accountability.
• Implement and monitor emergency preparedness and response strategies, including agreements, stock pre‑positioning and staff training.
• Coordinate with regional and global partners to align supply chain strategies and drive continuous improvement.
• Work with programme, procurement and external partners to plan, monitor and document supply activities and support donor engagement.
• Provide technical and advisory support to strengthen government supply chains, including capacity building and change management.
• Assist with pilot projects, product launches and innovation initiatives to enhance supply chain efficiency for children’s needs.
