Stock Controller

About the role

The Stock Controller will ensure accurate inventory records across our Lagos warehouse, supporting the e‑commerce operations of 1688.Tech. You will work closely with the Chinese supervisor and warehouse team to maintain real‑time stock visibility.

Key responsibilities

• Randomly verify five high‑value or best‑selling SKUs each day to confirm inventory accuracy.
• Conduct weekly cycle counts covering one‑fifth of warehouse zones, completing full coverage in a five‑week cycle.
• Lead a comprehensive warehouse‑wide inventory count once a month with the entire team.
• Immediately investigate discrepancies, complete the Inventory Discrepancy Handling Form and update records after supervisor approval.
• Manage the defective goods area (Zone D), logging returns, exchanges and disposing of damaged items.
• Assist the Chinese supervisor in verifying real‑time inventory data (no direct record edits).
• Check placement of goods during counts to ensure alignment with inventory records.

Required profile

• Higher National Diploma (HND) or equivalent.
• At least three years of experience in warehouse stocktaking or inventory management.
• Physically able to stand, walk and move goods for extended periods.
• Fluent in English; Yoruba or Igbo is a plus.
• Age between 22 and 40 years.

Required skills

• Proficiency in basic spreadsheet operations (WPS/Excel).
