Senior Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

Moniepoint is seeking an experienced Senior Site Reliability Engineer to own the reliability of its highly distributed financial platform. You will combine deep knowledge of distributed systems with strong coding skills to define SLOs, lead incident response, and build automation and self‑healing mechanisms that support hyper‑growth.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in on‑call rotations as the primary technical lead and act as Incident Commander during major incidents.
• Instrument code to expose high‑cardinality metrics and distributed traces, and define, measure, and defend Service Level Objectives and error budgets.
• Write production‑ready code in Java, Go or Python to build internal tooling, automation platforms, and self‑healing mechanisms.
• Partner with product engineering teams during design to embed reliability, scalability, and observability patterns such as circuit breakers and rate limiting.
• Analyze system performance, model capacity needs, and conduct load‑testing and chaos engineering experiments.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering or backend engineering.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and event‑driven architectures.
• Extensive experience operating production workloads on Google Cloud Platform or equivalent and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters.
