Senior Family Physician (Doctor/Registrar)

About the role

The African Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE) in Abuja is seeking a Senior Doctor/Senior Registrar to provide comprehensive, patient‑centered family medicine. You will deliver care to patients of all ages, lead clinical operations, and contribute to strategic planning for this flagship facility launching in early 2025.

Key responsibilities

• Provide full‑spectrum medical assessments, diagnosis, treatment and preventive care for acute and chronic conditions across all age groups.
• Perform emergency interventions such as CPR and intubation, and manage trauma or shock cases.
• Order, interpret and act on laboratory and imaging results, coordinating care with specialists.
• Lead patient‑care rounds, multidisciplinary meetings and supervise junior doctors and medical students.
• Participate in clinical audits, quality‑assurance programs and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Medical degree (MBBS/MBChB) from a recognised institution and valid medical licence.
• Completion of a residency program and recent pass of the Primary Fellowship Examination of the NPMCN (or equivalent).
• 5‑7 years of clinical experience in family medicine or primary care, with experience supervising staff.
• Membership in relevant professional bodies such as the Society of Family Physicians of Nigeria.

Required skills

• CPR and intubation proficiency.
• Diagnostic test ordering and interpretation (laboratory and imaging).
• Clinical audit and quality‑improvement methodology.
• Accurate medical record documentation and data protection compliance.
