Senior Condition Based Monitoring Technician

About the role

SPIE Services Nigeria Limited is seeking an experienced Senior Condition Based Monitoring (CBM) Technician to support offshore oil and gas installations. The role focuses on rotating equipment health, vibration analysis, thermography, and oil condition monitoring to prevent failures and optimise performance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform vibration data collection, analysis and first‑level diagnostics using tools such as CSI, SKF and Bently Nevada.
• Conduct infrared thermography and thermal imaging to identify hotspots, insulation issues and equipment anomalies.
• Execute bearing, seal, alignment and balancing maintenance on pumps, compressors, motors and turbines.
• Carry out oil sampling, spectrographic analysis and interpret results with dedicated software.
• Utilise condition monitoring platforms (e.g., PI System/OSIsoft) for real‑time temperature, pressure and vibration monitoring.
• Repair and refurbish mechanical components, read mechanical drawings and P&IDs, and use hand and power tools safely.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience on offshore oil and gas installations.
• Higher National Diploma or higher qualification in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
• Proven ability to collect, download and analyse vibration data and to generate monthly reports for on‑shore teams.
• Experience conducting thermography surveys and daily condition monitoring of pumps and turbines.
• Knowledge of spectrographic oil analysis and related databases.
