Private Chef for Household in Lagos

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated private chef to join a household in Lagos, Marina. The chef will be responsible for preparing daily meals and catering to the family’s culinary preferences while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and organization.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare daily breakfast, lunch, dinner and occasional special meals.
• Cook a variety of Nigerian and continental dishes according to household preferences.
• Plan menus, create shopping lists and manage food supplies responsibly.
• Maintain a clean, hygienic kitchen, including equipment, storage areas, refrigerator and pantry.
• Monitor inventory, notify the employer when items need replenishment, and minimise food waste.
• Accommodate dietary preferences and special meal requests, and assist with cooking for guests and family events.
• Perform any other reasonable cooking‑related duties assigned by the employer.

Required profile

• Minimum 2–3 years of professional cooking experience.
• Experience as a private, household, resident or family chef is an advantage.
• Reliable, respectful, disciplined and trustworthy with the ability to work independently.
• Willingness to reside on‑site at the employer’s residence in Amuwo‑Odofin.
• Good communication skills and excellent personal and kitchen hygiene.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Nigerian cuisine and good knowledge of continental dishes.
• Food preparation and presentation skills.
