Medical Activity Manager – Dikwa & Magumeri

About the role

The Medical Activity Manager is responsible for managing and implementing health and nutrition programmes at the LGA level, working closely with local health authorities and programme teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support to doctors, nurses, midwives, vaccinators and clinical teams to ensure high‑quality care and compliance with Ministry of Health standards.
• Conduct weekly monitoring visits to health facilities and outreach sites, complete quality checklists and submit field reports.
• Collaborate with the Field Pharmacist on medicine forecasting, consumption reporting and cold‑chain maintenance.
• Supervise data focal points, review monthly morbidity and consumption data, and ensure accurate reporting to the MEAL team.
• Maintain emergency preparedness plans, investigate disease outbreaks and coordinate with local health authorities.
• Oversee community health supervisors and vaccinators to implement immunisation micro‑plans.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree in Medicine (MBBS) and registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.
• Minimum 2 years of senior‑level experience in the humanitarian sector, preferably in fragile or unstable environments.
• Leadership, people‑management and strategic‑vision skills; commitment to humanitarian principles and INTERSOS values.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel and general internet use.
• Experience with donor compliance and reporting requirements.
